Fiber Management: FATs provide a means for organizing and managing fiber cables, connectors, and splices, typically through trays, panels, or racks within the enclosure. Proper fiber management helps ensure efficient installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the network.

Connectivity: FATs may include interfaces for connecting distribution fibers to subscriber premises equipment or other network elements, such as optical network terminals (ONTs), customer premises equipment (CPE), or distribution cables.

Power Supply: In some cases, FATs may include provisions for supplying power to active network equipment, such as ONTs or network switches, through battery backup or power-over-fiber technologies.
