In this regard, after years of experience analysis, we propose to put steel armored tubes in optical cable sheath, at the same time in the lightning protection component to add soft wire to lightning protection. Another option is to place steel shears on the outside of the cable sheath, while adding flexible wires that conduct electricity to the lightning protection component. That is, the outer layer of the cable is covered with steel armored tube, and then the conductive ring is stuck to the outside of the armored tube, and finally the outer metal tube to protect. In this way, the high voltage arc generated by the lightning protection device is received by the steel armored tube will generate lightning current, soft wire can be generated by the current into the earth, so as to reduce and avoid lightning damage to cable or equipment.
